To qualify for WIC a person must be in one of the following categories:
- A pregnant woman
- A woman who was pregnant within the past 6 months
- A woman who is breastfeeding a baby under 1 year of age
- A baby or child from birth to his or her fifth birthday**
- ** Babies and children cared for by either: single father, grandparent, foster parent, step-parent, or guardian the child will be eligible to receive benefits.
AND
A WIC applicants household must also meet Income Guidelines. A person may also qualify if they receive Medi-Cal, CalWorks (TANF) or CalFresh (SNAP) benefits.
